I am the personal representative of an estate but live several thousand miles away. I had no experience with the responsibility of overseeing an estate sale and was a bit nervous about all aspects of the project. The sale was recently concluded, and I was not only relieved but impressed beyond words with the thoroughness and professionalism of VCS Estate Services owners Jerril and Tamera Knowlden and their staff. My situation was like others. My mom had moved into a independent living facility and once we got the necessary furniture and personal mementos set up for her. We still had a full house. Jerril fixed that problem. He conducted his initial inspection we talked about the first steps. He gave me multiple options and sound advice. We made the decision to go with Jerril. He came in with his crew filled a dumpster, made sure we got any personal papers and photographs. He communicated everyday he was on the property. Detailed the next steps. We had cars so bill of sale and titles. He handles it all. If Jerril tells you something you can take it to the bank. I would strongly recommend his company to my friends and others.

You made a very complex...and somewhat emotional transition for us in selling our home of 30 years and all the items in it, about as painless and profitable as anyone could have. Having an estate sale the first week in December appeared to us to be a very difficult task, however, your systems approach to obtaining the best prices and then logging in 7 pages of detail in your report to us was and is very impressive. When we signed the contract, your company and our interests were on the same side of the table-sell at the best price, sell everything possible and if anything was left, help others by donating those items to charity. I am not quite sure how to express my thanks to you. As you know, it was only a few months ago that I began the process of researching estate sales, various companies, and how they work. I consider myself a business-oriented person, but have to admit that I was lost and scared about this whole process. I wanted to do the right thing for my Mom and Dad and all of their beloved possessions. This was a big challenge made even bigger by being in the midwest! After our initial call and meeting, I was impressed that you weren’t completely frightened by the volume of items in the 5,500 sq ft house, both large and small —a few of your competitors weren’t up to the task! You went into great detail to explain the process, what to expect, how you get paid, and what happens after the sale.

Given the task ahead of you, I truly thought there was NO WAY that you could get that giant house full of stuff sale-ready in less than 10 days, but you did!! It was an even bigger relief to know that you found Mom’s diamond necklace (that I couldn’t even find) and returned it to her—I am not sure that others would have done the same. I appreciate the fact that you updated me during the setup process, and after each day of the sale, and comforted me as my emotions finally got the best of me when the sale was complete. Of course, what we wanted most was to maximize value, and sure enough, you came through there, too, more than doubling the gross figures you thought you could attain.

I would recommend your company—no, your PEOPLE, to anyone who is considering an estate sale in your area. You were honest, dependable, and very comforting in an extremely difficult process. I only wish that I were there to thank you in person.

What started out as an overwhelming and dreaded task turned into relief and excitement as we could finally see that it would get done thanks to Jerril, Tamera and the staff at VCS Estate Liquidation Services.

Trying to clean out a 6,000 square foot house of 30+ years of accumulated possessions belonging to my parents and brother was daunting, and with the limited amount of time we had to spend, it would have taken us months to accomplish what Jerril and his team did in less than a week! They were able to go through the house and all the many items, stage everything beautifully, and successfully have the sale over a three day weekend, then had the house cleaned out on Monday! With their help, we were also able to get rid of years of paperwork that had been stored, as well.

Jerril has the experience and background to get this multi-faceted job done right. He has a team with the skills to research items for fair market pricing. Everyone was extremely professional, worked very hard and did a great job. They were helpful to us during the times we were at the house, and we really appreciated the respect they had for the home and the items they handled.

I contacted several companies before calling you. They only offered the estate sales where they had everyone traipsing through the home. The thought of that with us living there or just seeing people handle my moms things was more than I could bear. When I found your company and you offered another option of clearing everything out it was a god send.

I could not believe it when Jerrill came out and talked to me and my brother. He was not only kind but willing to tailor the job to our needs. That was great. We needed some of the things to be able to live there until we could sell the house. Working around that and taking stuff when we could release them allowed me to deal with the loss of my mother yet get what needed to be done taken care of.

Your crew was also FANTASTIC. They worked so hard and fast I was amazed. They also were kind and understanding of my feelings and emotions. I actually looked forward to seeing all of them because they made me laugh.

JERRIL AND HIS TEAM ARE ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE REAL. HE DOES EVERYTHING HE SAYS HE WILL AND MORE. THEY ARE FAWESOME!

I had to find someone to liquidate my Aunts estate. I was out of state at the time so I looked online and VCS was one of the listings that showed up on Google. I called several and met with several companies at my Aunts house. Her estate was an acre lot with a barn full of STUFF and other outbuildings. Jerril didn’t seem to be phased about any of it.

I went with VCS Estate services for several reasons.
-They responded to my calls in a timely fashion.
-VCS is licensed and insured.
-Jerril wasn’t deterred about the details of the estate or the time frame I had to meet.

Jerril kept me apprised of what was going on and had a lockbox on the front door so that access was controlled as they went through the set-up process. VCS had to go through several rooms of storage boxes to get everything out to display. There was quite a bit of cash that was returned to me that had been found in several boxes. I would have never know it was there if not for the honesty of his crew.

On the Monday of the sale week, I received a call from my Realtor and was told the new owners wanted to close THAT FRIDAY!!!. Jerril didn’t miss a beat and said they would help get the property cleared out if needed. I needed! Jerril was able to coordinate several volunteer groups to come pick up any items not sold and them went the extra mile and got the property in broom clean condition by Monday afternoon less than 24 hours after the sale ended. His entire crew pitched in. I couldn't have done it without them.

VCS is outstanding. In summary, our sale proceeds exceeded their estimate and even more importantly, they were sensitive and accommodating to our unique situation. Unfortunately, prior to engaging VCS, our mother’s finished basement was evacuated due to a minor flood, which resulted in the entire contents being randomly boxed up and moved to a garage, making it nearly impossible to conduct an estate sale.

Unlike other estate sale companies with rigid processes and lack of responsiveness; VCS was responsive, flexible, sensitive and creative by offering a “clean-up service” to help restoring access and visibility of home contents, allowing family to efficiently removal personal items (photos, confidential records, keepsakes, etc.). Without this service, our only option would have been to have everything hauled off without an estate sale, costing the family cash, lost memories, and fear of private and confidential information falling into the wrong hands. Not only did VCS’s service solve and preempt these potential problems, we ended up cash positive.

The VCS team is truly amazing. Their skills in being able to process and sort contents, merchandise for a sale, price it right and draw an audience is beyond my highest expectations. Go by one of their sales and see for yourself! Furthermore, they are the nicest and trustworthy people you will ever meet – very important when moving you mom out of your childhood home because mom can’t live there anymore.

The VCS team made the impossible, possible. Not only were they very professional and knowledgeable, but they were also extremely patient and kind throughout the whole process. If you have been left with the responsibility of clearing out a house or a garage and its emotionally overwhelming or physically daunting for you, call them. They will exceed your expectations. My entire experience was amazing - they turned a nightmare into something really positive. I will always be grateful for all that they did.

I hired VCS Estate Services to handle the sale of the contents of my recently deceased parent's house. Jerril, Tamera and their staff were all courteous and highly competent. They laid out the artifacts nicely and handled the sale smoothly. They kept the traffic flowing inside the house and even arranged for someone to make sure the parking situation didn't get out of hand or cause any problems for the HOA. After the sale, they cleaned up so that the house was broom clean, and we were able to do a final walk through together to inspect the house. Our estate was a challenge, we had so much tragedy in our lives and we just could not take care of our mother's estate by ourselves when she moved to a nursing home. But Jerril and his team came in and rose above, facing it head on to completion, I could not of done it with out you, thank you for everything!

VCS did a great job. My father was an "extreme collector" and had a 5000 Sq foot house full to the point that there were not even paths to some portions of the house. He passed away and left me with the mess. The VCS team was very timely and worked with me to clear all of it out and even helped me sell the house. They made an overwhelming task very manageable. Jerril, Tamera, and their staff were excellent! I became my uncle's power of attorney unexpectedly and needed to sell his assets and his property. I was completely overwhelmed and couldn't sleep because I did not know how I was going to remove all of his belongings and determine which items to sell, give away, throw away, etc. When I met with Jerril he said he would sell as much as he could and then remove everything that didn't sell and leave the property broom clean.
